We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for an experienced
Bar Supervisor at our prestigious venue, the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone.


This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional drinks and service within a dynamic and culturally rich environment.


ABOUT THE ROLE
As a
Bar Supervisor, you will lead the team by example in the following areas:

  • Providing 5 Star, friendly and fun customer service that will ensure our guests remember their experience.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of cocktail bar service
  • Create memorable guest experiences and bespoke cocktail menus
  • Serving up a menu of highquality cocktails, food, beverages and snacks with consistent quality.
  • Maintaining a healthy, clean and safe working environment.
  • Helping the business reach its business targets by following the direction of the management team and upselling.
  • Communicating with the team throughout your shift to ensure a smooth operation.

Customer and Food & Beverage Service

  • Providing a premium, friendly and memorable front of house service.
  • Welcome all customers, making them feel relaxed and valued.
  • Demonstrate a positive presence by being alert and aware of guests, make yourself approachable and greeting guests as they arrive at the bar.
  • Exceed customer expectations showing a passion for what you do.
  • Preparing and serving a range of drinks, snacks and food to the business specs, maintaining a high standard.
  • Offering table service to guests in the attraction.
  • Mixing ingredients to prepare premium cocktails.
  • Being knowledgeable on products and being able to recommend to customers.
  • Have fun Maintain a happy and professional working environment and encourage it among your colleagues.
  • Make customers aware of specials or anything that is unavailable.
  • Lead the team in following the "Steps of service"
  • Deal sympathetically with customer complaints and pass them on politely to a Shift Manager.
  • Understand and comply with all food & beverage regulations and procedures.
  • Check identification and confirm legal drinking age is adhered to and record all refusals.

Work Environment

  • Monitoring the presentation of the display and cleanliness of the areas
  • Clean up after yourself, maintain a safe and clean work environment, free of hazards.
  • Only use equipment that you have received the correct training to the company standard for
  • Make sure that equipment you do use is in good working order, report any faults to the managers.
  • To ensure and carry out all cleaning and deep cleaning tasks thoroughly.
  • Ensure that all display areas are set up and presented at a high standard.
  • Complete all daily paperwork and ensure all health & safety measures are met.
  • Ensure all wastage has been reported correctly using the bar folder reports.
  • Ensure safety of the guests by observing and knowing how to respond to incidents.
  • Know and carry out your role in the event of an evacuation.
  • Completing the close of a shift, ensuring all areas are clean and ready for the following day's operation with all stock topped up.
  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring all items are displayed correctly and well presented.
  • Staying vigilant, restocking and replenishing inventory and supplies
  • Accepting deliveries from suppliers, checking that they are correct and that the products are undamaged before storing them in the correct place.
  • Keep storage areas in a tidy, safe and clean condition.
  • Relay any short stock to the management team.

Personal Effectiveness

  • Being ready to work in your area, correctly dressed at the start of your shift.
  • Always presenting yourself to the highest standard, wearing your uniform to the agreed guidelines
  • Follow instructions correctly, according to procedures.
  • Inform managers regularly of anything you find challenging or don't understand. We are here to help.
  • Attending company training and meetings as required
  • Carry out your individual responsibilities as set by your manager according to your skillset and goals.
  • Prioritise tasks in a timely fashion.

Commercial Awareness & Practice

  • Be aware of sales targets and offers daily.
  • Encourage secondary spend and offer upsell options at every opportunity.
  • Processing all cash/card transactions and ringing them through the till correctly.
  • Handle cash responsibly and to the standards defined by the operational procedure.

The Role:

- £12.75 per hour

  • 30 hours per week (5pm pm & 5pm Midnight depending on the day)
  • Monday to Friday
