The role of Assistant Chief Fire Officer in Warwickshire is both challenging and exciting.

Working across the County Council and with partners will require the successful applicant to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service deploys Prevention, Protection and Response control measures to reduce risk and vulnerability with the outcome of:


  • Keeping people safe at home
  • Keeping people safe at work
  • Keeping people safe when travelling in and through Warwickshire
  • Keeping people safe enjoying the environment of Warwickshire


You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and enable a team to succeed and drive timely improvement and delivery.

The ability to analyse evidence and risk, develop robust business cases, deliver and measure outcomes is essential.

The role will require you to strategically lead and resolve operational incidents (incident Command Level 4). The role is open to applicants from all management backgrounds who demonstrate the potential to undertake the role. A level 4 incident command assessment of potential will form a part of the selection process.


The role of the ACFO is to:

Strategically support the Chief Fire Officer and key stakeholders, role modelling the values and behaviours of our organisation, representing the interests of the Service and undertaking the full range of functions, duties and responsibilities of a Principal Officer in the leadership, operation, management and control of the Fire and Rescue Service.


Be a key part of the Fire Leadership Team, leading the service to achieve its mission and its Prevention, Protection and Response priorities in a Risk based, Ethical, People focused and Sustainable way.
