Description

To work within the maternity care team providing support, high quality and safe care to women and their families in the hospital setting.

The post-holder will be required to undertake a defined range of duties, delegated by, and reported back to, a registered member of the multi-professional team.


Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Maternity assistant or administrator or Band 3 Maternity Support Worker to gain experience in supporting the Screening Team.

Band 2s are welcome to apply. Training will be given to the successful Band 2 administrator or Maternity assistant to progress to a Band 3.

Screening Maternity Support Worker/Administrator

Provide administrative support to the screening midwives.

To manage own time effectively, ensuring all women within the caseload are cared for under the direction of the screening midwife.

The role will involve assisting the Screening Team with the Down's screening pathway and supporting with administration duties.

To maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within all clinical areas i.e. the antenatal clinic rooms and the scan rooms used by the fetal consultants.
To ensure that there is a good stock supply i.e all equipment used for invasive testing, all relevant literature. To assist the screening team in the management of the fetal medicine clinic, ensuring efficiency and effectivity. To assist the screening midwives in the care of women throughout the antenatal period to ensure that planned programmes of care are provided

You will be expected to work efficiently and flexibly as part of a team with good organisational skills. You will need the ability to deal with competing priorities without direct supervision.
