PURPOSE OF ROLE:


To promote, develop and support volunteering within NEWCIS working with the main charity NEWCIS' carer service across Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

This would include working with all members of the NEWCIS team, carers, Trustees and our partners and to support volunteers to organise income generating events and activities and contribute to the fundraising strategy.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Promote and recruit carer and former carer volunteers to work across Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham to support the work of NEWCIS, the charity shop and carers who benefit from the services. This will include recruiting fundraiser volunteers to work with the team to hold events and activities to support the fundraising strategy of the charity.
  • Oversee the day to day coordination of carer /former carer volunteers ensuring that all volunteers are inducted, supervised and communicated appropriately in accordance with NEWCIS volunteer policy.
  • Work with the management team and staff to develop new volunteer opportunities within the service and where possible include fundraising activities for the volunteers and
  • To have an up to date knowledge of volunteering issues for carers and utilise good practice initiatives and liaise with third sector, private and statutory agencies on the work of the carer volunteers and attend any appropriate meetings as and when required.
  • Liaise with all partners for the carers volunteer project, to ensure suitable records are maintained and documentation submitted to NEWCIS to set deadlines. Implement agreed systems for measuring outcomes and provide quarterly reports for funders.
  • Use spreadsheets (Microsoft Office Excel or similar) to record financial transactions such as expense records and volunteer time sheets.
  • Organise appropriate training for carer and former carer volunteers either internally in conjunction with the NEWCIS training officer, or with other statutory and voluntary organisations.
  • Support and deliver the range of services offered by the carer centres which will consist of informal and formal volunteering, and training. Work experience and work related experiences volunteering, internships, and other such initiatives may also be explored.
  • Develop the role of NEWCIS volunteer Ambassadors and the Investors in Volunteering program.
  • Maintain the projects database and records of statistical information, collect and analyse statistical information and report to the management team.
  • To arrange for DBS checks for all new carer and former carer volunteers and to keep DBS records uptodate.
  • To undertake the production of promotional materials including leaflets and posters. Produce articles for the NEWCIS Newsletter and social media.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibility commensurate with the post
