What exactly will you be doing?


As the Interim Head of Insight, you will leverage your expertise to provide invaluable strategic insights that drive policy and business development, enhancing the value we deliver to our esteemed members and stakeholders.

With a keen eye for innovation, you will design and implement a comprehensive research and insight framework, aligned to AAT's overarching objectives and priorities.

Major objectives

The major objectives for the role are:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive research and insight framework and plan that aligns with AAT's objectives and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the organisation, while overseeing the collection, analysis and dissemination of actionable data to support decisionmaking processes.
  • Effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences, including preparing detailed presentations for Executive Leadership Teams, Senior Leadership Teams, and boards/committees.
  • Ensure the integration of market trends and customer needs into strategic and business planning, while managing the research and insight budget and resources efficiently.
  • Establish common methodologies and tools for customer research across the organisation, mentoring colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment to build understanding and buyin for evidencebased decisionmaking.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a strong proficiency in research design and data analysis.
  • Significant senior managerial experience in planning, organising, managing, developing and directing strategic insight and research activities across multidisciplinary and complex areas of work.
  • Strong stakeholder management and strategic partnership experience,
  • Outstanding track record of contributing to corporate and crossorganisational business strategy, with demonstrable excellent influencing, negotiating skills and political judgement, proven success in building productive professional relationships and partnerships.
