Description
Would you like to join our Legal Professional Support Team? If so, we'd really like to hear from you.

Here's your chance to be part of a large, experienced and supportive Service, assisting the Council in the effective delivery of legal advice and support across a broad range of matters.

You'll have the opportunity to work with any number of our specialist teams, but primarily you will likely be supporting the lawyers within the regulatory and litigation team or the commercial and employment team.

The role includes providing comprehensive professional support to our team of lawyers including coordination of legal cases in our case management system, supporting lawyers in the delivery of legal work, audio digital typing, electronic filing, preparing court bundles, etc., and helping administer the Legal Helpline and Team Inbox.

You'll have great communication skills, as well as being confident, adaptable, flexible and ready to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and experienced team.

This role is an excellent stepping-stone for anyone wishing to pursue a career in law. It's varied and interesting work within a very friendly but busy Service. Support and training will be provided.

Don't worry if you don't have experience of working for a council as we'll give you the support you need.

There are many benefits of working for Cornwall Council such as a defined benefit pension scheme, competitive salary, family friendly policies and flexible working.

This role can be carried out partly remotely, but you will be required to work within our Truro, New County Hall, office on at least 2 to 3 days out of 5 because some office-based working is required to support service needs.

Additional attendance may be required in the first few weeks whilst you learn the role.

We can discuss this with you during the recruitment process and we are open to a discussion about flexible working.

For an informal conversation or to obtain more details about the role, please contact Fiona Salmon on

This is a full-time, permanent role.
