HR & Employment Law Quality Manager
Location: 2 days in the office (Wilmslow)


Salary:
Up to £50,000 per annum plus £2K annual bonus


We are looking for a legal professional who will take the lead in supervising the quality for the Employment Law Team (ELT) department as well as working and supervising our EL Academy through their CILEX Professional portfolio.

Our Employment Law Team providesend-to-end telephone advice and support on a wide range of issues including terms and conditions, disciplinary and grievance, sickness and absence, performance and misconduct, TUPE, redundancy, discrimination, dismissal, employee relations, recruitment, etc.

It is expected that you will have a sound technical employment law knowledge to be able to offer legally compliantsupport and guidance to the team with an excellent level of customer service.

You will ensure you stay up to date with the latest changes in employment law and government guidance and will be able to confidently talk about these.


Working alongside the EL Academy you will be expected to support and guide our colleagues in building a professional and comprehensive portfolio as they work towards becoming a CILEX Lawyer.


In addition to consolidating upon technical excellence, we also expect this role to engage the hearts and minds of our colleagues, leading by example through our Citation values and delivering the best outcomes for our clients and team.

The role

Quality Management

  • Expectation of two quality reviews to be completed per consultant per month within the ELT
  • Live and retrospective call listening to be completed and feedback delivered through coaching and training.
  • Ensure all quality reviews are logged on the quality tracker and trends and themes are fed back to the Assistant Heads of Advice and PST.
  • Monthly/quarterly consistency meetings with Director of Employment Law and Employment Law Team Managers
  • Support on complex cases through to fruition where lack of knowledge/understanding
  • Monthly meetings with the Head of Tribunals to discuss feedback from tribunal hearings, trends and themes
Coaching

  • Use coaching techniques to ensure we provide the best support while developing the quality within our EL/HR Teams
Referrals

  • Identifying additional ways we can help clients and making them aware of the extra support we can offer, is a fundamental part of service excellence. As part of the quality reviews, you will proactively identify referral opportunities and share best practiceon how to maximise these opportunities.
Training

  • Work with the Assistant Heads of Advice and the PST to identify trends and themes for consultants continued development.
  • Provide second opinions to Consultants when required.
  • Attend all internal training meetings and conferences.
  • Use analysis findings to influence wider training plans
  • To be confident in using the learning resources available e.g., Lexis Nexis, IDS books.
  • Provide training and development to all areas of EL/HR when required
  • Monthly/quarterly consistency meetings with Director of Employment Law and Employment Law Team Managers
CILEX professional portfolio

  • Complete two portfolio supervisory meetings per month for each EL Academy colleague
  • Share knowledge on building a comprehensive portfolio meeting the expectations of CILEX
General

  • Remain up to date with legal updates and share these updates with the team
  • Continuously seek opportunities to add value and have a desire to stretch yourself and empower those around you to achieve their goals.

  • To work on additional duties and/or project work as required by the business.

About you:


There is a requirement for this role to be legally qualified, either as a practicing solicitor or as a Chartered Legal Executive.


You have a key understanding of Employment Law/HR and will be able to demonstrate this and be wanting to share your expertise with others.

You enjoy diving into the thick of the action leading and supporting teams, as well as utilising data to identify insightsto provide strategic recommendations and suggest improvements.

You will have proven leadership skills and it goes without saying you will also be comfortable dealing at all levels of our fast-paced organisation.
