Source Solutions are proud to be working with a leading, highly regarded contractor and platinum award investor in people, within electrical infrastructure a pioneer within reduced carbon solutions and innovator within net zero strategy on a large scale, to identify a skilled and experienced Procurement Lead who will add significant value to the way the company bids for works and mobilises supply chains for client contracts


This is a senior role in the procurement team leading a small team (with potential to grow) and the Procurement Lead will hold full responsibility for supply chain costs proposed in bids to clients and the following this through to the delivery of works.

This will be across large and small projects ensuring safe and effective mobilisation of supply chains across the UK.


The Procurement Lead will be responsible for:

  • Development and provision of supply chains for client bids ranging in value, building a clear supply-chain strategy, back-to-back terms and handling commercial negotiations,
  • Managing risk with wider economic environment in mind to ensure the value included in bids accounts for differing contract mechanisms including different contract forms, fixed vs variable costing and inflationary rises.
- (A working commercial knowledge of contracts is required as the role holder will be responsible for creating these requirements and managing risk)

  • Ensuring safe, compliant mobilisation and tracking spend to ensure benefits are realised and procurement savings directly impacting profit margins. (The role is therefore bid facing operating across the lifecycle of supply chain costs into submitted costs to clients then the management of supply chain mobilisation).
  • Seeking out and driving continuous improvement and issue resolution within internal and external practices, processes and systems.


The Procurement Lead will use data from historic bids, build benchmarks and have a direct impact on work winning and profit margins within the business, this will include commercial modelling, risk modelling, SAP data analysis, spend analysis.

The Project Procurement Lead will work closely with all internal stakeholders, including Senior Management, to deliver value adding change through improvement plans and innovation.

This will include presenting to our Senior Management Team for bids submitted to clients.

  • A high degree of procurement experience that is client facing across projects as well as bids and presentation experience
  • Excellent commercial acumen and strong contractual knowledge of different models
  • Experience of building strategies that align to business outcomes and meet client requirements
  • Experience in the creation, delivery and ongoing management of supply chain strategies for multiple individual client bids
  • Knowledge of complex supply chains across construction works and/or electrical projects an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of strategic sourcing execution, i.e. cost, price and financial analysis, internal & external market analysis, category strategy, market testing and innovation.
