Our client, a wholly owned crude oil and oil products trading subsidiary of a major energy and chemical company is recruiting for a
Service Desk Administrator to be based at a new office location in the City area of London.


On Offer;

  • Salary: Competitive salary in line with skills and experience

The Company


The core services of the business is to import crude oil and export oil products for the refining system of the group.

The company also engages in the optimisation of crude oil and oil products in the global market. The company has established a global presence,which includes an office in London.


Main Purpose of the Role;


The Service Desk Administrator is responsible for supporting Windows laptops for up to 100 users in a commodity trading house, with a mixed community of front and back office staff.

Facilitating helpdesk and desktop support functions, incident & change management,problem solving, documentation and housekeeping activities. You should be comfortable making configuration changes and clearly document and follow change control procedures.


Duties & Responsibilities;

  • To provide 1st & 2nd line IT support to the company's UK user community.
  • Respond and answer all service desk calls in a timely & respectable manner.
  • Manage IT hardware procurement and stock levels of all IT hardware to ensure sufficient coverage for breakages and new starters.
  • Maintain a healthy relationship and communication with head office in Beijing, and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Respond to and manage requests from the Beijing office.
  • Process IT invoices monthly, on time and within the due date.
  • Responsible for configuring & maintaining desktops, laptops, cisco desk phones & mobile devices.
  • Responsible to action desk moves and changes.
  • Responsible for maintaining UUK documentation including: user & setup guides, and IT asset records.
  • Administer user profiles and accounts within Active Directory & Exchange.
  • Manage devices registered with Microsoft InTune and SolarWinds N-Able.
  • Support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment.
  • Troubleshoot mail issues using exchange and Mimecast.
  • Monitor the environment using SolarWinds, respond to and report alerts to the infrastructure team.
  • Onboard new starters and leavers, following strict processes.
  • Ensure software compliance and patching status of end user devices.
  • Be security aware. Report any vulnerabilities discovered to the infrastructure team.
  • Build /Re-Build new laptops as required following strict SOP.
  • Participate in IT projects as seen fit by the IT Team Leader.
  • Ensure that all IT policies are followed and implemented.
  • Identify any improvements that can be made to service, recommendations for preventative maintenance and needs for user training.

To Be Considered

  • Minimum of 1 MCP

Working knowledge of Networking
  • TCP/IP / switching / Cisco IOS, MS SQL Server, Virtualization technologies
  • VMWare, Market Data Applications, Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE, PVM, Cisco IP Telephones & Call Manager, SolarWinds, and OKTA, ZscalerInternet Access & Private Access
  • 35 year IT support desk experience
