Rewind to 12th December 2012.

Out of a freezing cold office (because we couldn't afford heating back then), our founders huddled round a couple of laptops.

This was the moment.

After a year of working round the clock and a lifetime of tempering the thirst to create a world class brand, we pressed LAUNCH.

That was the moment Protein Works. website went live to the world.

It's not an overly fancy story, we know. There're no garages worked out of, no office in the Bay Area to talk up. But fancy isn't in our DNA, innovation is.

With the idea to rock the very foundations of a sports nutrition industry that had become stagnant, we set out to create a health and fitness brand that put pure quality & wow service before the lowest possible price.

We knew we'd be the underdogs from the very beginning. But you know what? We love that.


Fast forward around 10 years and the journey from humble Cheshire beginnings, to over 3 million orders shipped globally may be in the bag, but our future is just beginning.

So of course, it follows naturally that we believe in an in-house approach. We put talent and expertise at the centre of our brand. For us, team is everything.

In short, we don't 'do' agencies, and we emphatically believe our people are the best ones to create and deliver success.

The Role:
German Marketing Executive


Reporting into the Head of Trading and German Growth Hacker, this role is responsible for creating a best in class customer experience that delivers against our brand values and the needs of our current and new customers.

You will work alongside our Trading & Merchandising team, managing the PPC and Trading functions of one of our key stores - Germany.


A key part of your role will be delivering a synergistic trading strategy, bringing together our key acquisition channel and aligning this with projects to help drive conversion rate, gross profit and ultimately revenue across our product range.


This role requires a strong entrepreneurial flair, a really great understanding of ecommerce trading techniques, a passion for data and a real ability to think outside of the box when it comes to user experience and what creates a world class, unbeatable, unique customer experience.


Key Responsibilities
As the German Marketing expert, you'll be responsible for driving growth in our German market.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Be a central pillar within our Trading Team, working alongside the team to deliver our ambitious monthly, quarterly and yearly country targets.
  • Be responsible for delivering all country KPIs relating to GP, Revenue and Average Order Value.
  • Monitoring and Optimising all PPC performance campaigns, optimising daily budgets and strategy to ensure key targets are met.
  • Ensuring perfect execution of the Trading Plan in line with the marketing calendar as agreed with the Global Head of Trading.
  • Executing onsite projects to deliver increased Conversion Rates in line with the Global Head of Trading's Roadmap.
  • Communication of all PPC and Trading performance metrics across Germany.
  • Be responsible for the daily management of our ecommerce websites, making daily optimisations based on past learnings whilst promoting our brand values.
  • To be conscious of and accountable for and supportive of the rest of the business in driving targeted YoY Growth and Revenue.
  • To work alongside the Global Head of Trading to drive new customer acquisition across our DE store.
