Job Description Summary of Position**The post holder will be joining an experienced, specialist new build housing contractor, who have a strong pipeline of projects. Capitalising on their growing reputation, expanding client base and strong position, in the development of single family through to multi-family high-rise properties.
As the business expands and the need for ensuring compliance grows, it has been identified that a role focusing on Construction Quality is essential.
As a
Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing Quality on our projects in and around Manchester and Leeds.
Primary Responsibilities
- Working within the Quality Team and supporting SHEQ, Technical and Construction teams to determine compliance against internal and external requirements.
- Direct working relationships with Building Control & Warranty Inspectors.
- Developing a schedule of critical compliance audit checks.
- Alongside the site teams, manage ITP, Quality & Benchmark inspections.
- Raise Non-Conformity and manage the closeout of any associated corrective actions.
- Track progress against containment and corrective action providing KPI output of progress.
- Assist in the process of finding innovative and economical detail improvements to drive quality and reduce cost.
- To promote a right firsttime culture on site to prevent delays, rework, and revisits.
- Maintain an awareness of current material and construction legislation & research.
- Keep up to date with the latest technological advances, giving recommendations or warnings as appropriate.
- Propose/discuss any remedial actions required with the project team.
Qualifications & Training
- Construction related degree or diploma. (preferred not essential)
- Professional membership of (MCIOB/MCABE/MICWCI). (preferred not essential)
- Relevant Construction Skills Certificate Card
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Valid UK driving Licence.
Experience
- Extensive work experience within the construction industry.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role.
- Knowledge of both Single Family and Highrise projects.
Qualities
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Positive, selfmotivated, and able to work autonomously/remotely on several projects at once.
- Ability to monitor and check works or information and plan time and resources efficiently even under the pressure of multiple demands.
