Roche Abbey Care Home is a purpose designed Nursing Home with Nursing and Residential Dementia. Roche Abbey Nursing unit (Regent Street) is effectively and proudly run by our highly experienced Clinical Lead. The Residential Dementia Unit (Piccadilly Circus) is over seen by our highly accomplished Deputy Manager.

Here At Roche Abbey we strive to support and care for our residents with dignity and respect and offer the highest quality person centred care.

This is above all a Home and we as Staff just come and visit to support them.


As a Care Assistant you will report directly to the senior in charge/nurse in charge/deputy/ Clinical Lead and Home manager.

You will be provided with suitable training and support in order to fulfil your role and you will receive a mentor system via one of your colleagues.

There will be the opportunity for progression through NVQ routes moving to Senior Care Assistant Ultimately success in the role is knowing that your residents are well cared for and within a safe environment as well as your own professional development.


Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

  • Assisting residents with their day to day personal care, washing, dressing, oral hygiene
  • Assisting with meals/drinks to support our residents overall nutrition
  • Engaging with residents who wish to take part in social and recreational activities
  • Supporting the Seniors/Nursing staff and Home Manager with jobs as necessary
  • Completing all relevant paperwork in a timely manner
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns
  • Promote independence of our residents at all times to improve their quality of life
  • Respect residents dignity and respect
  • Provide companionship
  • Assist our residents with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, mopping, 2 stage cleaning, changing bed clothes, and Laundry duties.
  • Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of clients.
  • Observe and record Residents physical and emotional wellbeing, and promptly report any changes to senior staff.

Personal Responsibilities
Attend Mandatory training, Meetings and any other training as directed by the management.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 33 per week


Salary:
Up to £9.50 per hour
