What are we looking for? You'll be a qualified auditor or finalist, with varied audit experience within practice, and be confident in working closely with a significant client portfolio.


You'll have good working knowledge of accounting software and will be detail focused with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.

You'll be driven to proactively oversee client deliverables for your own portfolio, from the point of clientintroduction, right through to the submission of reports and HMRC filings.

Job Purpose

  • Lead the audit function, planning and completing audits for a diverse client portfolio in varying sectors, with mínimal input from senior staff.
  • Manage c.30 audits per year, with local travel to clients' premises.
  • This role is 70% audit, 30% accounts, so partial management of accounts is required.
  • Oversee assignments, including management and budget planning.
  • Support a varied client portfolio with turnovers up to c.£90m, building trusted relationships and the goto advisor.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for clients and communicate actions clearly.
  • Manage all thirdparty communication (HMRC etc.)
  • Handle technical and challenging projects, working to accounting standards and considerations.
  • Work closely with the senior management team, including supporting Partners with projects.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.
