This role is a the first of a series of new opportunities within Quilter to join our commercial team as we rebuild our acquisition team.

As the Head of Acquisitions, you will have the freedom to shape and build the team to help deliver this capability within our organisation.

As the Head of Acquisitions, your primary role will be to identify and acquire financial advice businesses for your organization.

You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive acquisition strategy, identifying potential targets, evaluating their financial and operational performance, negotiating terms, and managing the entire acquisition process.


You will identify potential acquisition targets through research and networking and evaluate their financial and operational performance to determine their suitability for acquisition.


Conduct due diligence on potential targets to assess their financial, legal, and regulatory compliance, as well as their market position, customer base, and growth potential.

Negotiate deal terms with potential sellers, including purchase price, payment structure, and transition arrangements.

You will manage the entire acquisition process, including deal structuring, and integration planning.

Collaborate with other departments within the organization, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure a seamless acquisition process.

Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential sellers, brokers, and advisors.

Monitor and report on the performance of acquired businesses to ensure they meet the organization's financial and strategic objectives.


Identify and recommend opportunities for growth and improvement within acquired businesses, and collaborate with management teams to execute on these opportunities.

About You

You will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate financial and operational performance metrics.

Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to structure and close complex deals.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.


Having done a similar role previously, you will likely hold some relevant technical qualifications such as ACCA/CFA/FRM/MBA, legal or deal experience.

Whilst this isn't entirely essential it would be our preferred option.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and manage teams.
