Working with one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturers, this is an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Reliability Test Engineer to work on a variety of prototype vehicles including Electric/Hybrid and Autonomous Vehicle projects.
Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pmHybrid working typically 3 days/week on site in Cranfield
Pay Rate:
£25.96/hour PAYE plus £3.89/hr holiday and £0.78 pension accrual
Salary equivalent £52,646
Techniche Umbrella Rate £34.58
You will be supporting the Electrical & Electronic Test team with:
- Management of electrical reliability tests relating to LF & RF noise, power supply robustness and electrical architecture robustness testing
- Management of vehicle compliance to EMC regulations R10
- Lead concern identification to root cause investigation including countermeasure recommendation.
- Support design departments and to ensure the quality of component testing
- Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones
- Creation of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle spec and test parts required for test, includes arrangement of vehicle transportation when required
- Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
- Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management
- Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
- Technical support to the production plant and test house when necessary
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
- Have working knowledge of Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi electrical architecture
- Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices
- Understanding of the fundamentals electromagnetics
- Understanding of component and vehicle EMC test requirements
- Have experience risk assessment of electrical design and generation of test plans
- Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections
- Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques
- Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, network and RF measurement equipment.
