Hither Green Service (Spring Gardens and Hilda House) is a busy, flagship service which provides you with the opportunity to join a specialised and committed team using a psychologically and trauma-informed approach, supporting 68, multiple excluded, highly vulnerable adults with complex needs in Lewisham.


We are privileged to work with a diverse group of residents to identify and achieve their individual goals for their time living with us.

We are seeking a permanent Night Support Worker to lead shifts at night.

The focus of the role will be on building positive relationships with our residents and on keeping them and the service safe and compliant during overnight hours.

The service has made vast improvements in quality of delivery in the last few years and we are looking for someone to join at an exciting, future focussed time where the whole team works towards put our residents and their recovery at the forefront of everything we do.

We are seeking full time positions although we are happy to consider part-time roles.


About you
You will be someone who is keen to be involved in helping people rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness and can demonstrate the below:

  • Understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services; or you may have personal experience of homelessness.
  • Experience working with people and who understands the issues that homeless or other vulnerable adults face, through your paid or voluntary work or your own lived experience.
  • Communicate in a sensitive, assertive and nuanced manner that builds trust and effective working relationships with residents who are experiencing issues including substance and alcohol addiction, poor mental health, offending behaviour and histories of abuse.
  • Strongly committed to upholding St Mungo's policies and the law in key areas such as safeguarding of vulnerable adults, and health and safety.
