Description
We are looking for an Imaging Department Assistant to join our busy and friendly team. You will need to be able to take part in a rota that covers duties from 6.00 a.m. to 10pm seven days a week worked over 37.5 hours per week for full timers covering all three sites. Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth.

You will be responsible for a range of duties supporting the service, encompassing clerical, technical and caring duties as allocated under the direction and supervision of the Radiographer or Sonographer in charge of the area, and following Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.


  • To assist with patient care, hoisting, changing, moving and administration of patients within the Imaging department, and continue that care where necessary throughout the imaging process.
  • To assist healthcare professionals in performing imaging procedures eg. room preparation, preparation of contrast media, chaperoning of patients and general patient care.
  • To support infection control measures in the Imaging Department, eg. assist with preparation of rooms and cleaning up afterwards.
  • To be responsible for the general cleaning and assist in quality assurance programmes for associated equipment.
  • To be responsible for stock control in area.
  • To assist in the training of new nonradiographic staff, enabling them to become fully conversant with the duties applicable to them.
  • To be familiar with, and comply with, the Health & Safety, Ionising Radiation and COSHH policies as outlined by the Trust or department.
  • To ensure that all clinical and other information records are fully and accurately completed, including the radiology computer system and hospital information system.
