The Apprentice Engineer role
We offer apprenticeships across the UK in a range of levels and disciplines. Our apprenticeships offer structured development, providing the perfect launch pad for your career.

During your apprenticeship with us, you will get:

The Apprenticeship Standard
This is a level 6 apprenticeship, which means that on its completion you will have both 5 years of experience and Beng (Hons) degree

Civil engineer (degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

Your profile
At Sir Robert McAlpine typically, we look for the below:

  • Have a passion for problem solving
  • Be interested in construction, engineering and the latest technology
  • Work experience (desirable)
The Apprenticeship course entry requirements are as follows;

  • A Level BBC
  • Must include Mathematics and preferably a Science in either Chemistry or Physics
(UCAS points:
112)

  • Tlevel (Merit or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying And Planning
(UCAS points:

120)

- points: 128)

  • Civil Engineering Technician level 3 apprenticeship DD
(UCAS points:
96) alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA

  • Access to Engineering qualifications with 15 Distinctions and 30 Merits including Maths and Physical Science credit
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
