Job description

Principal Policy Adviser, Housing & Land

Based from our York, London or Glasgow offices, with significant flexible working
£66k (+ £5k if based from London)

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) is working to speed up and support the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty, in which people and planet can flourish.

Inspired by the work of our founder over a century ago, today we are a wealthy, independent, social change organisation working across all nations of the UK.

This new role has been created to help us realise a new ambition: to lead and convene new thinking and ideas, drawing on a range of perspectives, in response to the deeper social and economic conditions on which poverty rests.

Your brief will be to understand where change to the systems that presently underpin housing and land in the UK could help solve poverty, and you'll be responsible for leading distinctive and powerful work which advances that goal.

Working closely with our Director of Insight & Policy, you'll have the space and resources to create, connect, convene and cultivate ideas to catalyse social change.

You'll design and lead innovative programmes of work, working with colleagues across JRF as well as using our platform and resources to nurture policy & ideas generation more broadly (including commissioning where necessary), to bring diverse perspectives into dialogue.

By linking to JRF's work on campaigns, advocacy, emerging futures and social investment, you'll find compelling ways to bring our policy & ideas to life.
