Job description

The Portal Trust is looking for a part time Communications Officer to help deliver our Communications Strategy.

The role will involve a range of activities including writing and editing stories for our website, visiting projects we fund and interviewing beneficiaries, managing our Social Media accounts and developing new ideas to get our message across.

You may be a recent entrant to the job market with academic or vocational training in Communications, or you may be an experienced Communications professional looking for a new opportunity.

Either way, you'll be able to demonstrate an understanding of online and printed media, the creativity to spot and develop a good story, and the organisational skills to keep on top of a range of administrative tasks.

With a passion for storytelling and the technical skill to best use our social media accounts, website and other communications channels, the postholder will play a central role in enabling us to reach more people and tell positive stories.

The Portal Trust is one of London's oldest and largest education charities.

We support education for young people in inner London through our grant programmes for individuals, schools and organisations, and through our relationships with a number of institutions to which we have historic ties, including two schools in London of which we are Trustee.

The Portal Trust is a supportive employer, providing generous Annual Leave, 10% employer pension contributions and ensuring our staff have access to high quality training opportunities.
