Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Victoria House Care Home in Blantyre to become part of our wonderful staff team as our training and quality coordinator lead.

We are a 50 bed care home for older adults based in Blantyre, in easy commuting distance from many areas including Glasgow.

We have all en-suite bedrooms which are on a single ground floor. We are literally across the road from amenities including ASDA and many local shops in Blantyre town centre.

The current owners have been involved with this home for around 10 years and therefore are well established and experienced operators.

You will be part of a staff team of nurses and support workers amongst others.

We have a very enthusiastic activities co-ordinator and have recently invested in things such as a 'silent disco system' and a 'Sharp Meet up Table' which is valued by the residents and has been very useful particularly during Covid pandemic.

We also have recently developed a link with Glasgow Caledonian University to have Occupational Therapy students based with us on placements.

This should be of mutual benefit to the home, its residents and the students.

We also have a very hands on General Manager who works between Victoria Care Home and our sister home 'Calderglen House' which is a residential rehab facility for adults with alcohol and drug problems.

Both sites are situated in Blantyre.

You will be mainly based at Victoria House but will also offer some support to Calderglen House when needed for generic staff training.

No experience of mental health or addictions needed.
Therefore you will have support and supervision from both an experienced General Manager and Home Manager.

We would be looking to recruit someone who likely has SVQ3 or above and training experience including train the trainer so they can give certificated training to our staff on things such as moving and handling, food hygiene etc.

We use a training matrix Evolve and have electronic care plans and eMar in place.
You will also assist the home manager in tasks such as HR and recruitment when required.
If you have any questions about us or the role please do not hesitate to contact us.
