Overview:

Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.


We have an exciting opportunity for a
Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.


As a Social Care Recovery Coordinator within CGL, you will be required to work in partnership and liaise with local partner services to help the people who use our service with their social care needs such as benefits, housing needs or social work support and also to help support our NHS Forth Valley Alcohol-Related Brain Injury (ARBI) Service.

Without this vital suppport, it can be difficult for those who use our services to make and sustain healthy changes in their lives.


No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Hours:37.5 per week


Salary:
£27, £31,529.41 Per year (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:


About the role:


  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • To form productive working relationships with external agencies and professionals, existing and new, to ensure that service users have access to a wide range of recovery and social care support resources.
  • To provide service users with ongoing opportunities to consult on service development working jointly to develop and deliver services, as appropriate, under the direction of management.
  • Act as a contact person for other professionals working as a 'Team Around the Person.
  • Work with individual drug and alcohol users, their carers and partner agencies to ensure the provision and development of social care packages reflects their needs and aspirations;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equity of access and outcomes, this will include due regard to equality, diversity, dignity, respect and human rights and working with others to keep vulnerable people safe from abuse and mistreatment
  • Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
  • To coordinate the collaboration of services and professionals in a 'Team Around the Person' in order to build effective and responsive community social care packages of support
  • Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc

About you:


  • An understanding and knowledge of the harmful effects associated with drug misuse in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social support available to substance users.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the welfare system
  • Knowledge and understanding of policies related to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and how these influence practice.
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

This vacancy is for a Fixed Term Contract of 24 months

Renumeration:
CGL Scale 23-28 depending on experieince, pro rata
