Are you a Metallurgist looking to work with major OEMs on cutting edge, low carbon projects, with a competitive package, unrivalled exposure into industry, on-going training and a clear scope to progress technically?

  • The job holder will support the development of an effective sustainability solution for AS&I, including the development of programmes to maximise costeffective scrap usage in Constellium extrusion alloys.
  • The job holder will support the identification of economically suitable sources of endoflife scrap in the UK and Europe together with scrap sorting and processing technologies.
  • The job holder will actively engage in, oversee and execute the programmes of work related to the CirConAl project at partners' sites utilizing appropriate working tools.
  • The job holder will support the relevant prototyping activities through overseeing the scrap stream material flow and documenting the trials, reporting the results and making recommendations appropriate to the CirConAl project.
  • The job holder will collect data, expand existing databases, write reports, analyse and propose solutions towards effective blending activities of identified scrap streams.
  • The job holder will effectively communicate and share the information internally or, whenever appropriate, externally with relevant stakeholders.
  • The job holder will be expected to establish and nurture strong relationships within Constellium, consortium partners and sortation technologies OEMs. Therefore, effective communication skills will be essential.
  • The job holder will be expected to have a high level of computer and software literacy to be able to efficiently collect, clean and interpret data. This will include the appropriate use of statistical analysis software as well as bespoke internal software with appropriate training provided.
  • The job holder will be expected to undergo various relevant programmes of training and, with time, become an expert in their task area and the equipment utilized for their performance.
  • The nature of the position will require the job holder to travel frequently to various locations across the UK and Europe, therefore flexibility to travel on short notice is important.
  • Due to the nature of the position and its high level of autonomy, the job holder will be expected to be a strong team player, take ownership and accountability over their activities and show initiative in planning.
  • The job holder will be expected to hold a degree in metallurgy/ materials science/ materials engineering or a related discipline and ideally have initial experience in the production environment. Aluminium/process
- related experience will be a distinct advantage.
