We are looking for a Process Design Consultant to join us on our exciting journey in building a Process Management and Process Improvement Capability.

You will support the evolution and embedding of our journey and process frameworks.

You will drive a systematic approach to reviewing our existing processes and journeys to ensure we deeply understand current performance and identify opportunities for value creation.

You will also identify, shape and size continuous improvement opportunities and inform how we organise to deliver against our evolving customer needs.

This is a role within the Business Operations function of Mortgages and Financial Wellbeing, which is the shared service team responsible for enabling the wider business unit to execute against our strategy through:

  • Providing independent challenge and support to drive performance, risk, and controls
  • Defining our member, broker and landlord experience through journeys and processes
  • Shaping and delivering our colleague enablement and engagement strategy and plan
  • Leading our business change and business readiness agenda
We specialise in reviewing business processes and journeys, using industry recognised techniques to visualise their current state.

We use this insight to build a detailed understanding of current performance, whilst highlighting pain points and identifying opportunities for improvement across all value areas.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your existing knowledge and experience, providing variety, challenge, and interactions at all levels within the Society.

Your success isn't based on how long you spend at your desk. You'll have contracted hours, but we're always happy to support flexible working wherever we can.

That might mean working from home or different Nationwide offices or agreeing a working pattern to help you balance work and life.

What you'll be doing:


  • Using data insight and root cause analysis to improve existing processes aligned to journey and process frameworks
  • Mapping and driving understanding of endtoend process performance highlighting key causes of variation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve how we are organised to drive efficiency / service
  • Identifying and driving simplification / optimisation / automation opportunities through targeted process reviews

About you:

As a minimum we would love you to be:

  • Accomplished in root cause analysis, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Successful in identifying and shaping Continuous Improvement opportunities, and using data to size these opportunities
  • Experienced or have indepth knowledge of process and/or journey design
  • A great communicator at senior leader level, through both your facetoface influencing and the quality of your written work
  • Confident and adept at report writing and formal presentations
  • Experienced in working with operational teams and/or experienced in Mortgages and financial wellbeing advantageous.
  • A strong planner with good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliverables
