We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Technical Clerk to work part time in our expanding Information Management team. The core aim for the appointed Technical Clerk will be to provide Administrative/ Document Control support to project teams.

It will be a mix of being in the Manchester office and working from home.

Ideally, we want someone who can work for 4 hours each day, the hours to be worked again can be pretty flexible, ideally, they will be in the afternoon but a mix of morning and afternoon within a week are fine.

We need to support engineers who normally work between 8am and 5pm so we need someone who can work between those hours

After thorough training in all aspects of Information Management you will have the opportunity to develop your role to that of a Document Controller


You will have the following

  • Computer literate
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Preferably some experience of document control

Principal Duties

  • Provide assistance with basic tasks where requested and perform other related support duties
  • Upload drawings and documents to our DMS systems (D2/ iCosNet)
  • Record and Distribute Incoming Supplier & 3rd Party Documentation project Document Control system (D2/ iCosNet)
  • Ensure project documents are managed in line with Company procedures
  • Issue and distribute project documentation in accordance with agreed document distribution matrices (DDM's) to ensure all current documents are relevant versions and available at point of use
  • Ensure documents both internally and from external sources are legible and identifiable
  • Track and Report on Project Document Status and produce monthly KPI's
  • Maintain project correspondence & project files
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties such as typing, copying & compiling data, maintaining & filing records and reports, and handling paperwork
