  • We are looking for a passionate and experienced SENCO to join our fantastic team here at Nugent house School. As a SENCO, you will be responsible for ensuring that our students receive the very best experience they deserve in the quest for them to become the best version of themselves.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold the National SENCO award;
Have a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of delivery within this framework;
Have significant experience of working with young people who hold EHCPs, ideally within a specialist provision;
Have an ability to engage, enthuse and motivate students and staff;
Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
Be able to lead a team of pastoral and classroom support staff;
Have experience, ideally, of working within a leadership team to ensure the achievement of students across the school;
Be a committed, highly competent, energised, reflective and resilient individual;
Possess the skills and determination to make a profound difference to the lives of our students by sharing our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting

The post holder will be expected to lead the support of learning across the school and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programmes of study for designated individuals and groups of young people with SEMH and complex needs.

To take responsibility in developing the holistic provision and interventions for pupils in consultation with the Head teacher that will support the progress for all children.

  • Nugent House School is an independent Residential Special School, registered for up to 60 students (with up to 8 boarders) aged between 7 and 19. There are currently 54 students on roll. Pupils are referred to the school by their local authorities in response to their needs not being met in other educational provisions. We currently have students referred from the vast majority of 'close' local authorities (St. Helens, Warrington, Knowsley, Lancashire, Halton, Liverpool, Wirral, Seft
