Full time - 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday, 9.00 am pm
Cordius are recruiting for a Paralegal in Leicester. Our client is a leading law firm in the East Midlands. A forward thinking and progressive company employing over 200 staff throughout 5 offices.

PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
To provide clerical and administrative support to the Child Care Team
DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct assistance with Care clients: Client contact point for new cases/allocation and when team is in court
- Office contact for all phone and drop in enquiries and for liaison with professionals such as guardians, experts, and counsel.
- Team Diary management, including setting up client appointments, entering and monitoring key dates, arranging assessments by experts and conferences with Counsel
- Support to the team with client contacts, instructions, follow up, statement preparation and checking
- Attend PLO / PPM meetings with clients (Legal Help)
- Supported and supervised administrative support to team:
- Setting up, monitoring, claiming, and paying DNA and drug and alcohol testing
- Bundle preparation: Checking with index, paginating, sorting for trial and assisting Solicitors with trial preparation
- Closing files following internal procedures in a timely manner
- Administrator for LAA online service point of contact for all LA / FE queries
- Drafting letters, preparation of file notes, telephones notes and other correspondence
- Attending meetings with fee earners and taking notes
- Attending court with counsel and taking notes
- Compliance with LAA audits
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Office administration within a legal environment ideally within a Care /Family team
- Legal research
- Managing a busy workload
- Previous paralegal experience an advantage
- Use of case management software would be advantageous
- Proficiency in MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook in particular)
- A keen interest in this challenging area of law and a commitment to the highest level of client care and service

- An ability to work closely and effectively with professional clients such as court appointed Guardians
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Law degree or relevant legal qualification
