About the role
You will be working in one of the Autism Provision's 3 classes within this mainstream primary school. There are 10 students to a class and you will be in charge of 2 students per day. The classes have a class teacher and four teaching assistants so studentshave a high staff to student ratio.

You will be helping students with their academic work, with behavioural interventions, emotional regulation and helping with interventions in speech and language where needed.

Individuals with experience using non-verbalcommunication methods for Autism such as PECS and Makaton are highly desirable for this role. This role will be full-time, Monday to Friday during term time 8.30am-3.30pm.

About the school

This is a mixed mainstream primary school in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, with an onsite specialist provision for students with Autism.

Ofsted, in their last report said the unit was "an inclusive, positive and caring climate for learning whereeach pupil is treated as an individual." Each class has the capacity for 10 students and the classes are spread across the school and situated adjacent to their link mainstream class.

Each unit class is staffed by a teacher and four teaching assistants allof whom are trained in autism approaches and strategies.

Some students who attend the unit are members of school, and the rest come in from surrounding schools in the tri-borough area.
