Element has an opportunity for an

Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our team in Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector.


The Accounts Payable Team Leader will report to the EMEA Accounts Payable Manager and will be responsible for the primary support of Accounts Payable (A/P).

This position will play a crucial role in the daily upkeep of accounts payable, fielding phone calls from vendors and Element laboratories, leading other A/P staff, inter-company settlement and analysis, lab credit card settlement and follow up, and other duties as assigned.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversight of invoice entry, coding and keying of invoices
  • Review of accounts payable journals and monthly Aging Analysis
  • Monitoring of PO and GRN matching and investigation of discrepancies
  • Assist Accounts Payable team with the necessary research to resolve issues
  • Supporting the weekly manual payments process required for all European stakeholders
  • Monthly reconciliations and reporting in line with the month end timetable
  • Dealing with audit queries for both internal and external auditors
  • Effectively communicate and partner with other finance teams
  • Development and implementation of standard operations procedures for accounts payable
  • Drive continuous improvement ideas with a view to being best in class

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in multisite / location accounts payable support
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferable
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems
  • Effective prioritization skills, and the ability to influence and direct operations
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of cash / banking processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to function as part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with deadlines and multiple priorities
