Homelessness Outreach Employment Advisor

Location:
Cambridge area, with some office work in Histon, Cambridge CB24 9ZR

Fixed Term Contract (due to funding) until 30th March 202- Funded by Cambridge City Council. _

We're looking for someone to hit the ground running


Hours: 28 hours a week


Salary:
£26,382.34 pa rising to £31,765.10 pa which equates to £21,105.87 pa to £25,412.08 pa for 28 hours per week (plus 4% increase effective 1 April 2024)


The Role


You will be enabling homeless and vulnerably housed people in Cambridge, including former rough sleepers, to improve their life chances by helping them to identify their goals and take advantage of training, education, volunteering, work experience and employment opportunities to enable them to move on with their lives.


The role involves meeting customers in their own homes, homeless hostels, other accommodation, or community venues for appointments which last, on average, about an hour.

You will need to be tolerant of different lifestyles and pets e.g. dogs and cats.


About You
Experience of delivering individual support through coaching and identifying people's training needs.

Experience of working with socially or financially disadvantaged, excluded or vulnerable people.

Experience of delivering services through lone working.

Relevant qualification in the area of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) desirable, but not essential.

Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, essential.
