About the role


Staynor Hall Primary Academy have an opportunity for a dedicated and conscientious SENDco to join their team, this will be to work closely with the schools Senior Leadership Team and the pupils for four days per week during the schools term time, exact days will be discussed further at interview.


To be successful within this role you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a number of different professionals.

You will work closely with and be supported by both the schools Teaching Team and the Senior Leadership Team.


As you will be a key point of contact for parents and carers you will ensure you have an approachable and caring manner, helping to build strong relationships and lines of communication between home and school.


You will be passionate about improving learning outcomes and experiences for all our children and reducing barriers to their learning.


The job requirements


The primary role of the SENDco is to manage the day-to-day operational work alongside the School Leadership Team to ensure that the children's needs are met to a high standard.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following:


  • To lead EHCP Reviews
  • To support staff with the writing of EHCP documentation and the writing of SMART targets
  • To assist the leadership team in leading the provision for special educational needs within school, liaising with the Headteacher as required
  • To assist the leadership team to manage appropriate SEND resources and to ensure that they are used efficiently and effectively
  • To assist the leadership team develop curriculum resources to ensure that pupils with SEND have the necessary levels of support
  • To support the leadership team in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum for our pupils
  • To support the leadership team in sustaining the effective teaching of pupils with SEND across the school leading to high quality outcomes
