This Role
This role is based within our Blending & Inventory Department at our Kilmalid site in Dumbarton and has responsibility for planning and co-ordinating all Bulk Operations activities within our operational areas.
In your role as Planner, you will be an integral part of a team reporting to the Operational Planner, with some of your key responsibilities listed below:
- Convert bottling demand ex E1 into operational requirements.
- Prepare and maintain warehouse space reports to measure against annual plan.
- Action and monitor the new distillate filling programme.
- Provide Operational areas and Transport Department with shortterm operational plans and activity schedules.
- Effectively direct production planning and review meetings.
- Monitor, record and report progress of production plans and communicate any changes on a timely and accurate basis.
- Determine top level labour requirements to enable plans to be achieved.
- Activate requests from customers for cask removals from all CBL sites.
- Assist in the preparation of medium/longterm scenario analyses.
- Provide Local Operations Management with feedback and reports on long term operational plans.
- Facilitate the process of corrective action and continuous improvement within the planning function.
- Can demonstrate a flexible approach to working practices and with suitable training provide cover in the wider Spirit Quality / Planning function.
- Provide Line Manager with ad hoc analysis and reports as required.
Our ideal Planner will have:
- Relevant experience in the planning and coordination of operations activities in the Scotch Whisky environment.
- Must be able to drive.
- Effectively communicates at all levels inside and out with the Company.
- Will have good quality interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
- Able to effectively direct production planning and review meetings.
- Ideally have a good working knowledge of Spirit management platform (SMP), E1, OBI & Power Bi.
- Will have a good understanding of IT principles and be able to take a systematic approach when using software in problemsolving situations.
- Able to produce results fit for purpose and within agreed deadlines.
- Can effectively selfappraise and take responsibility for developing own training plan.
- Able to work proactively and on own initiative.
- Can demonstrate a pragmatic and insightful approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
