Team Leader

    SBU/Department: Dean of Students
    FTE: 1FTE (37 Working hours per week)
    Duration of Contract: Permanent
    Salary: UH6 £31,396pa to £33,966 with the potential to progress to £37,099pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave:

25
days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield
Main duties and responsibilities

  • To manage the work of the Dean of Students Administration team ensuring customerfocused, timely and accurate processes are delivered in full compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • This Team Leader role will manage the Administration team to ensure frontline/ reception is covered and excellent customer focus is maintained. The role will work with Dean of Students SBU to allocate and prioritize workload on a regular basis and will liaise with managers to ensure the services are efficiently and effectively providing the best outcomes to students and staff within Student Wellbeing and to the wider SBU.
    Skill and experience required
  • You will have appropriate experience of developing and maintaining processes with an exceptional understanding of data management and communication between systems.
  • You will be expected to have experience of supervising/managing an administration team and are required to have proven experience of changing or implementing new processes with previous experience in managing and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Previous relevant experience within Higher Education or the wider public sector is desirable.
  • An excellent understanding of GDPR is essential and you will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with staff at all levels, students, and external stakeholders. Alongside excellent written skills, you will be expected to have Advanced IT skills, including the use of MS Office packages, databases and systems. You will have a proven ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries and the ability to develop operational processes and procedures, manage people and delegate effectively prioritising competing deadlines and workloads.
    Qualifications required
  • A minimum of a degree (or equivalent level 6 or higher qualification) or significant proven experience in a relevant field.
