The Vacancy


Barnet Homes is seeking to hire a Domestic Abuse Project Lead to oversee our work to achieve DAHA accreditation for our Housing Options and Housing Management services.

While managing this 18-month project, the Project Lead will:

- lead on engaging with domestic abuse survivors and specialist partner organisations to identify issues and opportunities, and research best practice to determine how Barnet Homes' services can be improved
- complete (and oversee the completion of) a wide range of actions to improve our operations across DAHA's eight priority areas, for example: developing policies and procedures, researching and commissioning training, writing internal & external communications, reviewing how effectively officers use the tools (including our computer systems) that are available to them to support survivors,
- oversee the project plan, and matrix-managing colleagues' actions to ensure that priority activities are completed to a high standard within target timeframes
- facilitate and chair the project's steering group meetings to obtain strategic decisions and maintain momentum with improvement activities.
- provide specialist advice & guidance to operational teams on matters that relate to domestic abuse.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with good problemsolving skills.
  • Good time management with an ability to work under pressure, and to manage deadlines effectively so business outcomes are achieved.
  • Experience in project management, project delivery or strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of domestic abuse response best practices and legislation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Understanding of intersectionality and antiracist practice.
  • Prepared to travel to schemes and other sites.
Barnet Homes is located at our Colindale office. This is a hybrid role that can be split between working in the office and remote working from home.
