Production Engineer
Reporting to:
Group Operations Director
Location:
Barnsley
c£25-30k (neg), fast track growth
Suited to Graduate or up to c5 years post-graduate.

Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Group Operations Director, you will provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing, sales & marketing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Management & the Sales team with product information, manufacturing limitations, and technical support as requested.
- Provide sales & marketing with manufacturing guidance, implications, and authorisation for BPA (Bespoke Product Authorisation), NPA (New product Authorisation) & EPA (Existing Product Authorisation) requests.
- Working with marketing, and where appropriate, pretest products to BS EN 1729: Part 1 & Part
- Determining the method of manufacture for new products.
- Identifying and Implement new Technologies, including Capex justification, planning and implementation.
- Provide accurate product drawings & BOM details to purchasing, planning and production departments.
- Provide support on quality issues. Ensure a disciplined approach to data and root cause analysis as required.
- Analyse processes using established continuous improvement techniques and methodology to optimise performance and reduce/eliminate waste.
- Reviewing tooling, jigs, and fixtures to constantly improve performance and minimise waste, change over times, etc.
- Build peer support and strong internal company relationships with other personnel.
- Support the production team to develop operator skills and knowledge through coaching and training.
- Adherence to legislative controls of the company. Knowledge / Understanding of ISO 9001, 45001 and 1400
- Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
- Working with the team, to guide the company to achieving Net-Zero Carbon.
- Controlling and issue of drawings.
Experience & Skills
- Engineering Degree, HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or experience demonstrating appropriate ability to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
- Experience of working in an engineering environment and able to read engineering drawings.
- Background in manufacturing sector, ideally high SKU, and small batch production.
- Knowledge of Robotics and CNC machining would be beneficial.
- Experience of continuous improvements methodology
- Good analytical skills, including ERP Systems
- AutoCAD experience would be beneficial.
