Description

We have an exciting role as part of our Health and Safety Team.


We're looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join us to inspire and influence others to the benefits of working responsibly, understanding the legal frameworks and show, coach and assist colleagues in how safety, health and environmental management can enhance mhs homes work activities.


We're looking for someone that is passionate about protecting others from harm, making sure our staff are safe when working and that our customers can be safe in their homes.

You'll love building relationships and working with other teams to help come up with solutions and offer advice to colleagues.

You'll know what good practice looks like and have an eye for spotting opportunities to improve our management systems.


Specifically, you'll need:

  • A full driving license and car to get out and about on site visits
  • TechIOSH Membership (Essential)
  • A level 3 qualification in H&S e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Proven experience of advising on Health & Safety matters, gained from recent working in a dedicated similar / equivalent Health & Safety role
  • Experience of leading on and supporting investigations
  • Experience of carrying out risk assessments across a range of related work activities
  • Experience of carrying out site inspections and audits without supervision
  • Attention to detail, whilst not losing sight of the whole
  • Able to effectively coordinate and work on a range of different work activities, whilst keeping up with proactive health and safety work
  • Strong data analysis skills using Excel
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Great communication skills and an ability to communicate on health and safety, with knowledge to promote a positive health and safety culture and to work effectively with colleagues and be part of the team
