We have several primary schools in Bristol looking for teaching assistants to join them on both a part-time and full-time basis from January 2023.


What does a typical working day look?

  • Arrive at 8:30am and help the teacher set up the classroom for the morning, including organising resources and running through the lesson plan for the day.
  • The children arrive Help them put away their bags and hang up their coats.
  • During lessons you may support specific students 121, run interventions, support generally with the whole class or listen to students read
  • Break times/ lunch times you may support with playground or lunch hall duty around your own lunch break.
  • 3:30pm home time Help the children get their coats on and collect their things. Chat to the class teacher to give feedback on specific students.

What does it take to be a fantastic teaching assistant?

  • You have an ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and teachers
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You have a great sense of humour
  • You can manage behaviour low level and challenging
  • You enjoy working with children
  • You have good numeracy and literacy skills

The daily rate ranges from £70 - £85 a day depending on experience and the school.

  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
