Investor and External Relations Lead


Salary:
£80,000 - £110,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Reports to:
Associate Director, CRH Ventures

Location:
Stratford, London (High flex - we'd expect you to be in the office 1 to 2 days a week)

Contract:
Permanent, 35 hours per week (flexible working requests will be considered)

Our expanding CRH Ventures team brings together the brightest minds, boldest ideas and best investment partners to build and secure investment for early-stage propositions and companies to fast-track scientific breakthroughs into patient benefit.

We have an established track record with spinouts, having played a role in the formation of over 65 companies. Our portfolio companies have gone on to raise ~£3bn in follow on funding with many achieving successful exit events.


We have great ambitions for the future of our CRH Ventures team, including a fresh focus on building out critical business and philanthropic networks, and elevating our profile with external stakeholders.

About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CRH Ventures team as our Investor and External Relations Lead.


  • Building out a new network of Entrepreneurs in Residence, mentors, and expert advisors
  • Building & managing new & existing relationships with co-investors and follow-on investors
  • Working with the CRUK Philanthropy team to identify and onboard new philanthropic donations
  • Curating a network of service providers for our spin-out portfolio

The role offers a tremendous opportunity for someone with a passion for communicating technical messages to a variety of audiences to demonstrate how external relations can add real value to CRH Ventures purpose and business objectives.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide senior leadership across all areas of CRH Ventures external relations, PR, and marketing
  • Acquire, curate, and maintain external business and philanthropic networks required to drive effective delivery of CRH Ventures purpose and business objectives.
  • Specific network engagement activities will include:
  • working in close collaboration with the broader CRH Ventures team to expand and manage our expert
- and mentor-in-residence networks; and attract high performing leadership to support the establishment and continued growth of our portfolio of spinouts
- working in close collaboration with CRUK Philanthropy and senior leaders to identify, cultivate and manage a diverse range of donor audiences (including High-net-worth individuals, family offices, investors, and alumni), with the ultimate aim of securing donations to the CRH [Seed/Philanthropy Fund]

  • Provide proactive and strategic advice to the CRH Ventures team and CRUK senior leaders on external network engagement and develop a programme of highquality events to support this
  • Gather intelligence and analyse the effectiveness of external engagement to help inform current and future engagement approaches
  • Play a leading role in the development and delivery of a strong CRH Ventures brand
  • Produce briefings and communications material for key audiences such as industry, investors, academia, and donors, to promote better understanding of CRH Ventures purpose and business objectives
  • Work with the CRUK events team to organise and attend relevant events that target our external network audiences (including donors) and represent CRH Ventures in external settings as appropriate
What skills are we looking for?

  • Substantial and demonstrable experience of building, leading, and influencing networks, and developing effective collaborative links between different groups, ideally in technical or scientific environments
  • Previous experience of exceptional written and oral communications, and delivery of best practice stakeholder engagement and management across a range of seniority levels
  • Strong process management skills and attention to detail in promoting excellence and quality
  • Experience of working collaboratively within both s
