Providing Family Therapy for Anorexia (FT-AN), and other therapeutic interventions, to children and young people with eating disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Working with the professional network around a child.

Participating in the team's triage and assessment system.

Education & professional Qualifications


Essential:

Relevant core profession within allied health profession


Either:

Clinical/Counselling Psychology


Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000) as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or British Psychological Society Statement of Equivalence.

Eligible for Chartership as a clinical Psychologist (BPS)

HCPC registration


or:

Systemic Psychotherapy

Postgraduate training in Systemic and Family Psychotherapy as accredited by the Association of Family Therapy (AFT).

UKCP registration

or

Child Psychotherapy


Recognized postgraduate level training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy conferring eligibility for full membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.

Professionally registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists

Recognised postgraduate training in Art Psychotherapy Prof registration with HCPC registration

or

Nursing

Degree or Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

Active Professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Experience


Essential:

Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team located in a community health care setting

Ability to work independently and manage own work within multidisciplinary and supervisory structures of the team

Experience of working with professional networks e.g. education, social services

Experience of specialist multidisciplinary assessment and treatment in a CAMHS and/or eating disorders service


Desirable:

Experience of working with children, adolescents and their parents, with a range of mental health difficulties, and reflecting the full range of clinical severity

Experience of working in a specialist eating disorders service

Experience of working with people in groups
