Job description

Directorate:

Children and Young People's Service

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career with Rotherham Council, Children and Young People's Services Business Services Team.

Are you enthusiastic, self-motivated, and confident in verbal and written communications? Are your ICT skills excellent? Do you have experience of working in a busy office environment? Do you want to be part of a well-supported team? If so, we would like to hear from you.

Business Services provide administrative support to many areas across Children and Young Peoples Services including Social Care, Early Help and Children Centres.

A key element of the role will be to process incoming information and documents using specific systems and to meet set thresholds.

Therefore, a proven ability to produce work which is accurate and demonstrates attention to detail would be desirable. In addition, you will be required to arrange and support highly confidential meetings, both in person and virtually.

It is therefore essential that you can demonstrate an ability to produce minutes to a high standard, which are detailed and accurate and within set timescales, although training will be provided.

Although the majority of work is not front facing you will be required to act as first point of contact at our children's centres ensuring a welcoming and professional first impression.

You will also be required to attend Riverside House on a rota basis. Currently, a working location policy is in place which means a combination of home and office base working.

The role of a business services assistant is interesting and varied and you will play a key role in making a difference to the children and families of Rotherham.

We are committed to making sure every child makes the best start in life, and we are striving to become an outstanding child-centred borough.
