JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a Chief Officer (or Master) to represent seafarer's interests and development.

This is a varied role which requires a broad set of skills and experience including communication, relationship building, research, written and verbal presentations in formal and informal settings.

You will liaise with seafarers, ship owners and management companies, P&I clubs, equipment suppliers and regulatory bodies with the objectives of engaging all in the development and improvement of training, conditions and safety across the wider shipping community.

One day you could be interviewing Captains, the next day you could be presenting your ideas to the IMO, the following day you could be working on an EU funded research project.

Applicants with operational experience on several vessel types will have an advantage.
A degree achieved separately to your Officer training is required to demonstrate your formal structured writing skills.
You will also need to have the existing right to live and work in the UK.
