Data Engineer

Focus 5 Recruitment are excited to be working with an exciting tech company who are looking for a Data Engineer.

As a Data Engineer you will develop clear and well-structured plans that can be presented directly to stakeholders and senior management.

We are looking for a talented data engineer to play a vital role in helping us redefine the future of work by helping us build a best-in-class end-to-end data pipelines and automate procedures.

This includes ETL, designing & building data models, data validation,and managing uptime.

You will work closely alongside teams within our Product and Data departments to best align & support our data requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Support our team and other stakeholders in preparing datasets for decisionmaking
Maintain, modify, enhance & create ETL workflows to keep up & shape our future data landscape
Design, troubleshoot, optimise and program Product data sets
Support all data teams in data migration, data transformation, queries and SQL optimisation
Create technical specifications for new & existing datasets and value the importance of documentation
Adhere and contribute to our data governance & prepare metadata for companywide consumption
Proactively assess and ensure data quality
Conduct adhoc analysis to give recommendations for operative measures

Skills, know-how and experience:

Must have:

2+ years of experience in a similar role (e.g., Data Engineer or Database Engineer)
Knowledge and use of Snowflake
Good understanding of database technology ( SQL and NoSQL)
Good knowledge of SQL and data modelling in a data warehouse, data lake or data mart environment)
Experience working with cloud solutions ideally Azure
Python with some experience using Python oriented data tools such as AWS Boto, PySpark or Spark SQL
Proficient in data modelling / objectoriented programming
Used & worked with data pipeline & data management tools such as Apache Airflow or Prefect
Datadriven and good with numbers whilst being able to explain complex concepts
Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
