Software Scientist

Salary:
£39,748 to £44,166 per annum (dependent on skills and experience). A Specialist Allowance of up to £4000 per annum is also available for this role.


Hours:
Full time or Part time (minimum 30 hours per week)

The role is based in a multidisciplinary environment, and you will work alongside software developers, mathematicians, image analysis specialist and experimentalists to design, develop and enhance a suite of high-end image analysis and visualization softwareand technologies on variety of projects supporting the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, Diamond Light Source, the Central Laser Facility and the wider UK CT community.


Essential

  • Ability to analyse data with a systematic and analytical approach
  • Ability to develop methods and solve problems with mínimal supervision
  • The ability and confidence to relay & exchange technical information with people from a variety of backgrounds in a variety of forms
  • Demonstrable experience of working with drive, determination, ownership and responsibility
  • Proven confidence with programming (e.g. with Python)
