Fixed Income Dealer


What is the opportunity?


Building a career with an experienced global fixed income team focusing on global rates, corporate bonds, emerging market credits and derivatives.


What will you do?

  • Execute required fixed income trades for RBC GAM managed funds as directed by Portfolio Managers.
  • Work with Portfolio Managers to develop trading strategies.
  • Work closely with other members of the Global Fixed Income and Currencies (GFI&C) team to manage workflow and trading strategies.
  • Understand factors influencing asset prices and navigate liquidity to deliver best execution across a broad range of fixed income products.
  • Provide Portfolio Managers with ongoing information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume, and price volatility.
  • Communicate with brokers in an accurate, precise and professional manner and maintain good relations with all individuals and/or companies having dealings with RBC GAM.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Relevant university degree
  • Solid years of experience at a financial services firm preferably with exposure to capital markets
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods including basic probability and statistics
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude, ability to prioritize and be a team player

Nice-to-have

  • Level I CFA passed
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of interest rate and credit (corporate and sovereign) instruments
