What the role involves in a nutshell:

  • Visit pupils and their parents/carers in their homes to build relationships and improve attendance
  • Collect identified students from their home and bring them in to the school and, if necessary, take them home again at the end of their session.
  • Use a range of assessments and intervention strategies to support students and families to reengage them in their education.
  • Work with the Student Services Team in order to support your role as Attendance Officer
