We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Year to join the brand new Sixth Form at Didsbury High School; a successful and highly ambitious school.
We require an individual to manage the student's achievement and attendance, to assist in the transition process and to develop and deliver creative assemblies.
This position is contracted on a Term Time Only basis.This means you will mainly work when the school is open to students and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.
In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.About Us
Didsbury High School is the most oversubscribed first preference school in Manchester. We are a non-selective, non-denominational school, which opened in September 2019. Our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities in a brand-new building behind Didsbury Point.
We currently have students in Years 7 to 10 and will be opening our brand-new sixth form in September 2023.
Job Purpose _(For further details on the role, please see the Job Description attached via TES)_
- Manage the relevant year group including pastoral support, achievement, attendance, attainment/progress, behavioural issues and intervention and child protection matters
- Establish positive relationships with parents, staff and outside agencies in line with the schools' vision and values
We are seeking individuals who are able to demonstrate our core behaviourswhich set out the expectations we have of our staff.
Key Skills & Experience
- Sound educational background including GCSE's in Maths and English (A*C) or equivalent
- Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous
- Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role
