Description

To work on the tool repairs and tool Maintenance section in the Hellermann Tyton Toolroom, conducting Repairs activities and Maintenance on a variety of Multi-Cavitation Plastic Injection Moulds.

Diligence is paramount, with an ability to work under pressure, and to stringent time frames whilst remaining calm & focused.
Working amongst a very buoyant Team & use relevant machinery to its maximum effectiveness.
39 Hours per week, Monday-Thursday 7.00am3.15 pm. Friday 7.00am2.15pm
A reasonable level of overtime would be expected (Including Weekends) as & when required to meet customer requirements

Essential:
Fully Apprenticeship Trained with an Engineering qualification focused on Mechanical or Production Engineering.

City & Guilds or other governing body equivalent

Experience working within a Toolroom environment is essential, with a good base knowledge of multi cavitation plastic injection Mould tools

an in-depth knowledge of Mould tool assembly

good knowledge of manual machining processes including, milling, turning and surface grinding

good ability to understand technical drawings

good working knowledge of basic computer software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

Desirable:
Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles

Understanding of SMED principles

Good Knowledge of Hot Runner Systems such as:

HUSKY

HASCO
MoldMasters

Experience with CNC Milling Machines, especially HURCO machines would be a distinct advantage

Experience in managing critical spares inventories

Strong Communication Skills

Able to work as part of a team

Able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
