A rapidly expanding spin-out company is recruiting for a Senior Chemical Engineer to join its team in Cambridge.

As part of the technical team, you will lead process development, improvement, and optimisation activities - working on innovative projects involvingfilms and coatings.

This role would suit an experienced Process Development Engineer with a strong background in the films or coatings industry - working on R&D implementation and pilot-manufacturing scale.

Senior Chemical Engineer responsibilities

Being the technical specialist/project lead on our films and coatings projects
Leading process development, improvement and optimisation
Implementation of processes from Lab to manufacturing scale
Planning and conducting experiments to investigate the effect of processes parameters on final product (at various scales)
Liaising with internal and external experts (e.g. consultants and equipment suppliers) to identify best process and equipment
Working with external consultants on the scaleup processes

Senior Chemical Engineer requirements

Degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or closely related.
Experience of R&D implementation and pilot to manufacturing scale
Coatings or Films expertise, preferably at pilot and manufacturing scale
Experience of developing a process from batch to a continuous mode of operation
An experimentalist with strong analytical skills
An individual who is open to learn with an inquisitive mindset
Leading projects to deliver products to customers
