We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our growing healthcare employment practice.

As part of our team, you will work alongside senior and junior associates to support and assist clients in connection with a wide range of employment matters, with a particular focus on Employment Tribunal litigation.

Experience in healthcare is not essential for this role. Our friendly and approachable team will support you as you get acquainted with the sector and our clients.

The work is varied, interesting, and stimulating, enabling you to engage with clients at a senior level through your case work while also receiving support and supervision from your colleagues.

You will be responsible for advising and assisting clients in connection with largely contentious work with some non-contentious work also available on employment matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advocacy in employment tribunals
  • Case Management Hearings/Preliminary Hearings.
  • Drafting correspondence to the Employment Tribunal, opposing Solicitors, witnesses, ACAS, client advice.
  • Drafting or advising on contracts, policies, and procedures; advising clients on what procedures are required.
  • General advice e.g. conduct of disciplinary investigations; grievance procedures; redundancy programmes; general queries about flexible working, maternity rights, paternity rights, etc.
  • Contributing towards the marketing efforts and other nonfeeearning projects of the department, including assisting in the preparation of and/or speaking at seminars, drafting training programmes, keeping precedents uptodate, and contributing to Employment Bulletins.
There may also be some scope for Corporate support work - e.g. advice on TUPE in connection with transactions; advising on indemnities and warranties; due diligence reports for clients.

Person specification
You should have a strong academic background with experience in contentious and non-contentious work. You should also have an enquiring mind, be attentive to detail, and have a willingness to accept new challenges.

Commercial awareness is essential, with the ability to assimilate facts quickly and work towards tight timescales, managing your own time effectively.

You should also be able to provide and communicate practical, commercial advice, establishing and maintaining good professional relationships with both clients and colleagues.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to join our team today and take the next step towards a rewarding career with a leading law firm.
