Description

The Data Modeller role is a new role, working with the Lead Data Architect in the Business Intelligence team to provide a key service to other analysts and data consumers across the organization.

The team is establishing new approaches to support the democratization of data, providing access to trusted core data across strategic plan themes.


  • As part of the Business Intelligence Team at the University of Manchester, the postholder will work with the Lead Data Architect and stakeholders to develop data artefacts using Power Query and power BI, based on University's business need. These include dataflows, datasets and reports covering the University's core data across all strategic plan themes.
  • The postholder will provide advice, guidance, and training on data modelling to the team and other analysts at the University, as part of an objective to adopt consistent standards and collaborate on data analysis across the organisation.
  • The role will also include responsibility for developing and implementing new solutions to monitor and improve data quality and testing of data processes. This will include defining requirements and developing an efficient and effective solution report on data quality and check on the integrity of data assets as development continues.
